"Summer Rain" by Christiana Igbokwe — A Calm Anthem of Joy and Discovery
Summer Rain is the fourth single of 2025 from 12-year-old music activist and humanitarian Christiana Igbokwe, a rising star with a legacy rooted in greatness as the granddaughter of Nigerian music icon Christy Essien Igbokwe. Blending African and reggae rhythms, this mellow, happy, and calming track captures a child’s perspective of travel, wonder, and the unpredictability of life.
Inspired by stories her mother shared about London and later by her own summer visits to the city Christiana penned Summer Rain as a reflection on both the limitations and excitement that come with exploring a new place. Her first trip was dampened by London’s famously fickle weather, but her second was filled with unforgettable experiences: from the Natural History and Science Museums to the London Zoo, LEGO LAND, and even the magic of the Harry Potter Studio Tour. There’s something truly special about the London air, it carries a sense of magic and adventure."
In Summer Rain, Christiana captures that shift from waiting inside under cloudy skies to stepping out into a world of vibrant discovery. With a smooth fusion of reggae soul and African warmth, this song is a celebration of resilience, joy, and the simple beauty found in both rain and sunshine.
Following her previous releases Champion, Ku Saura (featuring Ali Jita and Christy Essien), and On God Remix (featuring Makayla Malaka), Summer Rain adds new depth to Christiana’s growing discography, which is building toward her highly anticipated debut albums: The Rebirth and Happy Days.
